Dental care for seniors is often more intensive than it is for our younger patients. A lifetime of wear, stress, exciting life events, and increased use of medications can cause our older patients to have need of more extensive dental work.
Below are a few of the common procedures and conditions:
Porcelain Veneers – Porcelain Veneers are a popular way to get more attractive and whiter teeth for many older patients who have discolored, or misshapen teeth. Veneers are permanent and can be used to correct a single tooth or to improve all of the teeth in a smile.
Dental Implants & Bridges – Dental Implants are permanently affixed to the jawbone, and can replace a lost tooth and bridges can “bridge” the gap between missing teeth with a small appliance. Our office uses 3D technology to to make placing implants a safer, faster, more predictable experience for our patients.
Dentures – Dentures allow the face to maintain its structure and avoid an aged look, and patients are to be able to improve their health while eating and enjoying food again. A complete set or a single row of dentures can be custom made and fitted in a short period of time.
Endodontics – Endodontics is a dental procedure that removes an infected portion of a tooth, cleans out the inflamed and damaged area and then fills the space with clean comfortable material. This process allows the patient to retain their natural tooth. Endodontics is also called a “root canal” and is one of the more common procedures performed at Parkview Dental, after regular cleaning and maintenance.
