Family Dentistry

Complete and convenient dentistry services for the whole family

Parkview Dental offers comprehensive dental for the entire family. Led by Dr. Brandon L. Schmidt, our Gilbert, Arizona team provides dental care to patients of all ages. Whether it’s your child’s first dental visit or restorative work for grandma, we are here to give everyone in your family a reason to smile.

Can appointments for multiple family members be scheduled together?

Yes! We encourage bundling family appointments to save time and reduce stress. Coordinating care for parents, kids, and grandparents at the same time makes scheduling easier and minimizes travel and logistical challenges. Plus, children often feel more comfortable seeing other family members getting care. We offer convenient and flexible scheduling five days a week to make coordinating appointments seamless.

How often should my family visit the dentist?

All family members should visit us at least every six months. More visits may be needed for those with a history of gum disease or decay. These biannual appointments include a thorough dental exam by Dr. Schmidt, cleanings by our skilled hygienists, and preventive treatment like fluoride or sealants. Safe digital X-rays will be ordered to detect oral issues beneath the gum line as needed. Regular visits ensure your family’s oral health stays on track.

What are “known risk factors” for dental problems?

Risk factors for gum disease, tooth decay, and oral cancer include habits like smoking/vaping, poor oral hygiene, and health conditions such as diabetes. An added benefit of treating generations of families is seeing patterns that run in families. This knowledge informs strategies to stay ahead of potential dental problems and damage.

Pediatric Dentistry

Children’s dentistry is a specialty focusing on the unique needs of our youngest patients. We encourage parents to bring children in with the rest of the family after their 2nd birthday. This is a great time to evaluate the pediatric dentition and get your child comfortable in the office. As your child grows, the nature of their dental visits will also change to meet their needs.

The next major transition in pediatric care is after their 5th birthday. This is just the right time to evaluate the timing of your child’s incoming permanent teeth. It is vital that children learn from a young age that the dentist and dental hygienist are “helpers” who are there for their health and well-being. We understand that this is a scary experience for many children and Dr. Schmidt, as a father, is especially sensitive to helping all children feel comfortable and safe.

Senior Dentistry

Dental care for seniors is often more intensive than it is for our younger patients. A lifetime of wear, stress, exciting life events, and increased use of medications can cause our older patients to need more extensive dental work.

  • Porcelain veneers – Porcelain veneers are a popular way to get more attractive and whiter teeth for many older patients who have discolored or misshapen teeth. Veneers are permanent and can be used to correct a single tooth or to improve all of the teeth in a smile.
  • Dental implants & bridges – Dental implants are permanently affixed to the jawbone, and can replace a lost tooth and bridges can “bridge” the gap between missing teeth with a small appliance. Our office uses 3D technology to make placing implants a safer, faster, more predictable experience for our patients.
  • Dentures – Dentures allow the face to maintain its structure and avoid an aged look, and patients are able to improve their health while eating and enjoying food again. A complete set or a single row of dentures can be custom made and fitted in a short period of time.
  • Endodontics – Endodontics is a dental procedure that removes an infected portion of a tooth, cleans out the inflamed and damaged area, and then fills the space with clean, comfortable material. This process allows the patient to retain their natural tooth. Endodontics is also called a “root canal” and is one of the more common procedures performed at Parkview Dental, after regular cleaning and maintenance.
